Job summary

NRL is seeking an experienced MEP Lead to deliver mechanical and electrical works on a major construction development in Newcastle. This senior role requires strong technical knowledge and proven ability to manage the full MEP scope across complex projects.

Location Newcastle – details disclosed during recruitment. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ post-qualification experience, a relevant electrical engineering degree, and a track record with a main contractor.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or electrical trade qualification.
• 10+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience managing large-scale projects as Senior Project Manager or similar.
• Experience with main building contractor preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full MEP scope across the project lifecycle.
• Lead all MEP activities to meet programme, quality, safety and commercial targets.
• Monitor compliance with design specs, standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors and stakeholders for seamless delivery.
• Drive performance and continuous improvement across all MEP operations.
• Conduct regular site reviews and progress reporting to align with objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full mechanical and electrical scope across the project lifecycle
• Lead all MEP activities to meet programme, quality, safety, and commercial targets
• Monitor compliance with design specifications, technical standards, and regulations
• Work closely with design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery
• Drive performance and continuous improvement across all MEP operations
• Conduct regular site reviews and progress reporting to maintain alignment with objectives

Must-have Requirements

• Relevant third-level degree in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Trade Qualification
• Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience
• Proven track record managing large-scale projects as Senior Project Manager or similar
• Preferably experience gained with a main building contractor
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
