Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an MEP Design Manager to join the KME team in the South West. Location is flexible with the South West region preferred. 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility. Kier cannot offer sponsorship for this role.

The MEP Design Manager will guide design solutions across multiple schemes, manage budgets and programmes, and lead external design teams and BIM resources, ensuring quality and contractual alignment while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as an MEP design manager for main or Tier 1 MEP contractors.
• Proven track record delivering multiple medium or large schemes with strong technical MEPH understanding.
• Experience leading teams to achieve objectives with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• CSCS card and good understanding of JCT/NEC contracts.
• Proactive problem solver with strong organisational skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage all design and working drawing activities within budgets, scope and programme.
• Lead design safety reviews and ensure CDM compliance in design processes and deliverables.
• Manage external design teams and BIM resources with clear scopes and contractual alignment.
• Implement QA processes and ensure technical compliance of design solutions with engineers and consultants.
• Build and maintain client relationships with clear status reports and expectations throughout delivery.
