Job description

Mental Health Youth Worker

Are you enthusiastic about supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people?

Do you have experience supporting individuals that can find it difficult to build social and emotional relationships?

In recent years there is a massive focus on supporting the mental health of pupils who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences. We are currently seeking practitioners to support these pupils on a 1:1 basis for a number of primary schools in the Wantage area of Oxfordshire. These opportunities come with an option of progressing onto contract at the school.

As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will be involved in not only supporting pupils within the classroom but will also be comfortable with running activities with the pupil/s outside the classroom as well. Alongside the class teacher, you will also provide support with ensuring the right support is in place for the students.

These positions are on a full time basis and full support and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training whilst in the role, including prevent and safeguarding training.

This would be a great opportunity for someone that has experience supporting pupils in school or an alternative setting but we will also be considering people without this experience.
