Job summary

Doing Good Leeds is seeking a Job Retention Specialist to provide one-to-one, time-limited support to adults with mental health challenges who are in work. You will work with clients to identify strengths, plan practical steps, and pursue reasonable adjustments with employer collaboration.

You will coordinate with NHS teams and Leeds Mind colleagues, maintain accurate records, and participate in supervision to meet service goals. A compassionate, inclusive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health, employment, advice, advocacy or a similar service.
• Understanding of how mental health difficulties can affect work and wellbeing.
• Experience of managing competing priorities or a caseload, and keeping clear, accurate records, using standard digital systems.
• Up-to-date knowledge of ACAS guidance and best practice related to inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Give one-to-one support to people with mental health difficulties who are in work, using a structured, time-limited intervention approach.
• Work with each person to understand their strengths and workplace difficulties, agree a practical plan and review progress.
• Help people understand and request reasonable adjustments at work.
• Speak with employers and line managers, with the person’s consent, to support productive workplace conversations.
• Coordinate with NHS teams, Leeds Mind colleagues and other services while respecting confidentiality.
• Manage your own caseload, keep clear records, and work towards service goals with supervision and case reviews.
• Share client feedback and ideas to help improve the service.
