Job summary

Leeds Mind is seeking a dedicated Job Retention Specialist to support clients in Leeds. You’ll step in when they need you most, providing time-limited help to stay in work despite mental health challenges, using practical guidance and mediation insights to improve workplace inclusion.

This hybrid role (1 day remote) is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £29,009 per year. Based at Leeds LS18 4LB, you’ll work under a supportive Team Leader to help people navigate barriers at work and access

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health, employment support, advice or advocacy is welcome.
• Familiar with ACAS guidance and workplace inclusion practices.
• No prior job required; training and support from a Team Leader will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide time-limited support to clients to address their issues.
• Apply the LIFT-Model for time-sensitive intervention.
• Support employees in mediation meetings and educate employers on inclusion.

It’s hard to find work when you struggle with your mental health. It’s another story to remain in a job long-term. That’s where you come in.

As a Job Retention Specialist, you’ll parachute in when clients need you most. Maybe they’re on long-term sick because of their mental health. Perhaps they’re on a performance improvement plan because they’re burned out from masking. They could be part of a disciplinary process because they’re struggling in their role without reasonable adjustments that they should have in place. Whatever the reason, you’ll be able to provide vital support.

You’ll wear a lot of hats as a Job Retention Specialist. You’ll know what ACAS guidance is relevant, you’ll support employees in mediation meetings similarly to a union rep, and you’ll educate employers on best practice related to inclusion in the workplace.

Each person you support, you’ll support for a short period of time to deal with the issues they’re facing. To do this, you’ll use the LIFT-Model, offering time sensitive intervention and support.
