Job summary

APEX is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker in the Southampton area to help people with mental health conditions and a history of substance misuse. Training is provided and no prior experience is required; you may be involved in personal care and crisis de-escalation.

Shifts include days or nights, part-time or full-time, with some weekend work essential. Benefits include enhanced holiday pay, pension, DBS and more.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work shifts including days/nights and some weekend work
• No prior experience required; full training provided
• Ability to communicate effectively and use active listening
• Prepared to support people in crisis and de-escalation

Responsibilities

• Promote positive behaviour and identify triggers to prevent escalations
• Handle emergencies and crises using de-escalation techniques
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social services to coordinate support
