Job summary

Compassionate Care Group Ltd in Knowsley is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker – Complex Children to support a young person with complex mental health needs. You will work within a residential children's home on a rolling rota, with options for day and night shifts.

A full UK driving licence is essential. You will earn £16.25 per hour with a £500 welcome bonus and up to 28 days annual leave, plus training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with mental health conditions or complex behaviours.
• Excellent English language skills are essential for communication and emotional support.
• Willingness to work a fixed rota including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with a child presenting with complex mental health needs, including EUPD and trauma-related behaviours.
• Build therapeutic relationships through consistency, empathy, and positive role modelling.
• Support emotional regulation, coping strategies, resilience and independence while maintaining boundaries.
• Respond calmly during distress using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
• Encourage engagement in education, hobbies and daily routines to promote wellbeing.
• Collaborate with families, social workers, CAMHS, and schools to deliver person-centred support.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion, and adapt approach to individual needs.
