About the Role

A Specialist School in Devizes is seeking a vibrant and friendly graduate to join their team as a Mental Health Support Worker, supporting pupils with mental health needs.

The students, aged 11 to 18, come from diverse backgrounds and have notable social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many have experienced adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and may exhibit anti-social behaviors. They require 1:1 support and guidance to help regulate their thoughts and process emotions healthily.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and mental health professionals to engage and support students.
  • Identify and address potential triggers related to trauma and psychological needs.
  • Assist with classwork and ensure students meet academic and emotional milestones.
