Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker for Romsey Avenue in Nuneaton. The role supports adults with severe mental illness in a 24-hour residential setting, including daytime, afternoon, evening, and sleep-in shifts to ensure continuous care and wellbeing.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centered support, assess needs, and promote recovery and independence while maintaining a safe environment and high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with mental illness in a social care setting.
  • Great listening skills, empathy, patience and kindness.
  • Ability to use digital systems (Microsoft applications, email, internet).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one key-worker support and build professional relationships.
  • Carry out assessments and develop personalised support and safety plans.
  • Encourage people to manage their mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Support service users with meaningful activities - daily tasks, including personal care, maintaining home, food and hydration, and sharing successes.
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills and accessing community services.
  • Liaise with mental health agencies, professionals and community groups.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and promoting a safe, supportive environment.
  • Keep accurate records, monitor progress and share information with the team.
  • Help improve the service by offering feedback and supporting colleagues.

Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Romsey Avenue, Nuneaton
Enhancement Additional Payments: £50 - Per sleep in (8 hours), £0.86 - Unsocial Hours, 1.5 x hourly rate - Bank Holiday

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for an experienced and caring Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our dedicated team at Romsey Avenue – a CQC Registered home supporting with severe and enduring mental health challenges.

Romsey Avenue is a 24-hour residential service for adults living with severe mental illness. The service provides support seven days a week through daytime, afternoon, evening, and sleep-in shifts, ensuring continuous care and assistance. The service accommodates up to 13 male and female residents and is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and aspirations. Our approach is strengths-based, focusing on empowering individuals to build on their existing skills and abilities. Residents are encouraged and supported to achieve the highest level of independence possible, while maintaining their wellbeing and recovery. Staff work collaboratively with a range of external professionals and agencies to ensure a consistent, coordinated, and holistic approach to support, enabling residents to work towards their personal goals and improve their quality of life.

What will you do?

In this role, I will support individuals on their recovery journey, helping them build skills, confidence and independence. My work will include:
