Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness in Dawlish is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred support within Stewart Gardens. You will help individuals on their recovery journey, building trusting relationships and facilitating access to local services and activities.

The role focuses on independence, wellbeing and collaborative care, with duties spanning needs assessments, risk management and maintaining accurate records. Dependency on personal care may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness in a social care setting.
  • Transferable life/work experience applicable to this role.
  • Experience assessing needs and developing risk and support plans.
  • Ability to work with digital systems (Microsoft applications, email, internet).
  • Good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient and willing to learn.
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity.

Full Time (35 Hours) Permanent - Weekdays and Weekends

Enhancement Additional Payments:

£0.86 - Unsocial Hours, 1.5 x hourly rate - Bank Holiday

About The Service

Stewart Gardens is part of our Devon Supported Housing service, providing housing-related support to people leaving hospital or residential settings who have low to medium support needs. Using a recovery-focused approach, we empower people to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals.

What You'll Be Doing

Essential Experience, Skills Required For This Role
  • I have experience of providing support to people with a mental illness in a social care setting.
  • I have transferable life/work experience to apply to this role.
  • I have experience of making a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans and activities to meet these needs.
  • Ability to work with digital systems (Microsoft applications, email, internet)
  • I am a good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient and willing to learn
  • I can demonstrate behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity.
