Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness in Northampton is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to assist residents at Albany House and Lindsay House in their recovery journey. You will build relationships, assess needs and support daily living while coordinating with community services.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, accurate record-keeping and collaborative teamwork within a compassionate, inclusive environment. Training and development are available to support career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one key-worker support and build positive, professional relationships.
  • Carry out assessments and develop personalised support and safety plans.
  • Encourage individuals to manage their mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Support with daily living skills and accessing community services.
  • Liaise with mental health agencies, professionals and community groups.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and promote a safe, supportive environment.
  • Keep accurate records, monitor progress and share information with the team.
  • Help improve the service by offering feedback and supporting colleagues.

Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Northampton

Enhancement Additional Payments: £50 - Per sleep in (8 hours), £0.86 - Unsocial Hours, 1.5 x hourly rate - Bank Holiday

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? We're looking for an experienced and caring Mental Health Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Albany House - a CQC Registered home supporting with severe and enduring mental health challenges.

About Lindsay House

Our Lindsay House Service is a 17-bed mental health supported accommodation service based in Northampton. We provide accommodation and recovery-focused support for adults with a primary mental health diagnosis who need help to develop independence and manage their wellbeing. Our service offers personalised support with areas such as daily living skills, medication management, budgeting, cooking, accessing healthcare services, community involvement, and achieving personal recovery goals. Staff work closely with residents and local mental health teams to promote independence, confidence, and long-term wellbeing.

What you will do and achieve?

In this role, I will support individuals on their recovery journey, helping them build skills, confidence and independence. My work will include:
