Job summary

IBC Healthcare in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs live independently within their community.

You will provide person-centred support, promote dignity and choice, and work with families and professionals to enable meaningful activities and community participation.

Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities & Mental Health

We are looking for compassionate and motivated Support Workers who are passionate about enabling adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live as independently as possible.

  • Role: Support Worker
  • Pay Rate: £12.90 Per Hour
  • Shifts: Days and Nights Available
  • Full-time - 42 hours per week
  • Location: Kidsgrove, Staffordshire
About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults to:

  • Engage in meaningful activities that reflect their interests, goals, and aspirations
  • Build confidence and skills to live as independently as possible
  • Access and participate in their local communities, including education, employment, volunteering, and social opportunities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and professionals
  • Make informed choices and have their voice heard in all aspects of their lives

You will provide person-centred support that promotes dignity, respect, and choice, adapting your approach to meet each individual's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with daily living skills, encouraging independence at every opportunity
  • Facilitate community-based activities and meaningful occupation, tailored to individual outcomes
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive mental health
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to person-centred support planning
  • Support individuals to manage risks safely while maintaining choice and autonomy
