Job summary

CareTech Group is recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Watford service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, rota-based shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, with a £13.03 per hour rate.

We offer training, DBS paid for by CareTech, and a supportive environment focused on independence and life skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience to support Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disability.
  • Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
  • Drivers desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Support activities, appointments, and community access.
  • Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Job description

Mental Health Support Worker – Male

Location: Watford
Rate: £13.03 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

Shifts will be either early / late – 7.45am, 8am 9am start – 2.45pm 9pm or 10pm finish

To work every other weekend

About the Service – Essex Road

Essex Road Supported Living Service consists of 13 self-contained flats has been built in Watford to accommodate people who may need support with the best possible recovery outcomes with long term and complex, needs in areas such as; drug, alcohol, stress, physical or mental illness either from past experiences or difficult relationships.

Essex Road has free on-site parking and excellent transport links for those commuting.

  • Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.

  • Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
