Vacancy Location: Sydney House - Salisbury

This is a permanent, 35-hour vacancy that will close in 5 days at 23:59 BST.

Your role

Rethink Mental Illness is an organization dedicated to helping those severely impacted by mental illness. We are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to join our passionate and friendly team at Sydney House in Salisbury.

Sydney House is a supported housing scheme for nine residents, located a 10-minute walk from Salisbury city centre. Our small, experienced, and dynamic team adopts a person-centred approach to help residents reintegrate into the community.

Overview of a Mental Health Support Worker role:

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide support to individuals affected by mental illness, helping them regain confidence and participate in social and work-related activities. You will work closely with service users to help them achieve personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey.

Essential skills and experience required:
  • Transferable Life/Work Experience: Valuable personal or professional experiences applicable to this role.
  • Listening and Empathy: Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and willingness to learn.
  • Values Alignment: Ability to demonstrate behaviors aligned with our charity’s values, including hope, understanding, expertise, equity, commitment, passion, and openness.
