Job Description

This role involves working as a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner within the CAMHS Crisis team. You will respond rapidly to crises involving young people, contributing to assessments and management within a structured Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction framework. Your responsibilities include identifying therapeutic goals, referring to specialist inpatient services when necessary, and working collaboratively with other services to minimize inpatient care.

You will develop holistic, safety, and recovery-focused care plans, mobilize support for the child and family, and promote resilience to prevent future crises. Your work will involve direct engagement with young people in various settings, including emergency care, paediatric wards, schools, and homes.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Core qualification as a mental health practitioner (qualified nurse)
  • Experience in completing bio-psycho-social risk assessments
  • Experience in safety and care planning within CAMHS
