Job description

Wirral Single Point of Access is looking to recruit several experienced, qualified Mental Health Nurses. We provide a dynamic assessment and signposting service for all new referrals into secondary care mental health services from age 18 upwards, including work with adults and older adults, assessing organic and functional mental health issues.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-year post-registration experience and will be expected to work with a high level of expertise within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have a sound working knowledge of the current spectrum of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act. We seek highly skilled, competent practitioners who are motivated and committed to delivering quality care, with excellent communication and person-centred skills.

The service operates from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, across Wirral. The role requires travel across a wide geographical area; therefore, access to a car and a full driving license are essential.

The Mental Health Nurse must demonstrate high-level clinical skills, with experience working within Mental Health at least to a band 5 level.

We are looking for highly skilled, motivated, and competent nurses who can deliver quality care with excellent communication and assessment skills, including report writing and managing complex patients.

You will be an autonomous, independent practitioner within a small but dynamic team, supporting the transformation of Community Mental Health Services. Access to transport is essential for working across the geographical area.
