Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Mental Health Legislation Assistant to support its Mental Health Legislation Service at Oleaster, Birmingham. The role involves handling legal documentation under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, with full training provided.

You will manage sensitive information with discretion, liaise with professionals and agencies, and travel across Birmingham and Solihull to provide Trust-wide support as required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths at Grade C or above.
• Willingness to gain certificate in Mental Health Law and Practice.
• Certificate in Mental Health Law and Practice.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsabilités

• Act as first point of contact for patients and professionals, maintaining confidentiality.
• Receive, scrutinise and process legal documentation under the MHA & MCA.
• Support Mental Health Tribunals, Hospital Managers' Hearings, renewals and reviews.
• Coordinate correspondence, monitor deadlines and maintain records.
• Provide cross-cover, support new staff and participate in service improvements.
