Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust in Luton is seeking a Band 6 to 7 progression pharmacist to provide a clinical pharmacy service to designated mental health inpatient teams and lead medicines optimisation.

The role also supports newly qualified pharmacists entering mental health hospital pharmacy, offering rotation through CAMHS, Forensics, Older Adults, PICU, and collaboration with the wider MDT. You will participate in Quality Improvement projects to improve care.

Qualifications

• Essential: Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy; + pre-registration training; Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council and/or Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
• Experience: Demonstrate the ability to communicate medicine-related information to mental health patients, carers and clinical staff; mentorship and training skills; clinical audit; training and education.

Responsibilities

• Develop clinical pharmacy services within the Luton and Bedfordshire directorates with the Clinical Lead/Lead Pharmacist.
• Monitor and implement the Trust's clinical pharmacy standards to ensure high quality, patient-focused service.
• Manage stock control of medicines on the wards and cost-effective medicine optimisation across inpatient wards.
• Manage clozapine supply for inpatient and community service users.
