Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust in Luton is seeking a Clinical Mental Health Pharmacist (Development Post 6 to 7) to provide a clinical pharmacy service to designated mental health inpatient teams and lead medicines optimisation.

The post supports newly qualified pharmacists into mental health hospital pharmacy, with rotation through CAMHS, Forensics, Older Adults, PICU, and opportunities for a rotation with an acute trust provider.

Responsibilities

Provide a clinical pharmacy service to designated mental health inpatient teams and medicines optimisation.
Be the source of expert pharmaceutical advice for the MDT and undertake patient-centered medicines discussions.
Rotate through mental health specialisms (e.g., CAMHS, Forensics, Older Adults, PICU) and engage in broader rotations with partner trusts.
Develop and improve the reliability and quality of the clinical pharmacy service and participate in Quality Improvement projects.
Demonstrate compassion and respect for people with mental health illness and promote safe, effective use of medicines.
Collaborate with the Clinical Lead/Lead Pharmacist to develop services within the Luton and Bedfordshire directorates and monitor standards, stock control, and cost-effective measures; manage clozapine supply.
