Job summary

Potters Bar Clinic in Potters Bar is seeking a Mental Health Act Administrator to organize and coordinate First Tier Tribunals and Hospital Manager Hearing meetings. You will prepare paperwork, notify all parties, obtain reports and arrange hearings in line with MHA Code of Practice.

• Attending Managers Review Hearings in the capacity of the MHA Administrator/Clerk and ensure the review satisfies the fundamental legal requirements of fairness reasonableness and lawfulness.
• Following up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas.
• Liaising with the consultants and nursing team to update service users information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments.
• Providing information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Health Advocacy Services (IMHA).

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings. As a Mental Health Act Administrator, you will process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, and will be responsible for notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiate hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice an procedures.
