AYBL is seeking an exceptionally talented Menswear Designer to strengthen our product offering from concept to booking. You’ll work with the team to shape the menswear direction, balancing technical understanding with commercial awareness and brand standards.

You’ll collaborate with Womenswear, stay ahead of trends, and produce mood boards, CADs, patterns and tech packs that drive high sampling hit rates. This role is based in Redditch with scope to travel for collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Degree in Fashion Design or similar.
• Knowledge and understanding of pattern cutting, grading and garment construction.
• Ability to CAD and a competent user of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Confident user of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets for trackers and range plans.
• Previous experience communicating with overseas suppliers.
• Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.
• Strong creative skills and understanding of brand guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
• Driven work ethic, taking ownership of your work and role.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Ability to take constructive feedback on designs.
• Passionate about making a difference.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Experience using PLM systems would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to the creative direction of AYBL’s menswear categories, taking ownership of the design process from concept creation through to booking.
• Design and develop innovative products across multiple menswear categories, ensuring all designs meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
• Collaborate with the Womenswear Designers to ensure clear consistency across ranges.
• Stay up to date with trends in fabrics, colours, silhouettes and design features.
• Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, patterns and graphic designs aligned with AYBL’s brand.
• Present seasonal concepts and designs at CAD sign-off meetings to Directors and teams.
• Prepare range boards and supporting documents ahead of sign-off meetings.
• Produce detailed tech packs for overseas suppliers on construction and fit.
• Work with Garment Technologist on fit sessions and design comments.
• Record fit session notes and actions and follow up to deadlines.
• Create and update monthly launch range plans for menswear.
• Support Junior Designers with sample progress trackers and development timelines.
• Log, label and track samples; maintain the sample room and archive.
• Maintain product information on PLM systems including style numbers and colorways.
• Manage supplier communications with clear records and approvals.
• Request fabric swatches, trims and lab dips and keep libraries updated.
• Keep design files and assets well organised and named.
• Support the Design Team with additional duties as needed.
