Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a hands-on MEICA Commissioning Engineer to join AW Engineering on a permanent basis. The role focuses on commissioning water treatment assets, testing, and handover readiness across regional sites.

You’ll collaborate with design, delivery and operations teams, produce commissioning documentation, and travel to sites with a full UK driving licence. Competitive salary with car allowance and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• Experience in water supply asset maintenance or commissioning.
• Experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance within water/utilities sector.
• Understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of commissioning activities on site.
• Collaborate with design, delivery, and operational teams for project outcomes.
• Assist in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of assets.
• Produce and maintain commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments.
• Help resolve technical issues and optimise performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you’ll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A HNC (or equivalent Level 4 qualification) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
• Experience in water supply asset maintenance or commissioning
• Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector)
• A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
