Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a MEICA Commissioning Engineer to join the AW Engineering team on regional water projects across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. The role focuses on commissioning assets, testing and handover readiness to deliver reliable water infrastructure.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safety, quality and performance while supporting design, delivery and operations through early supplier engagement and documentation.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent Level 4) in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Experience in water supply asset maintenance or commissioning.
• Experience in commissioning, operations or maintenance (water/utilities preferred).
• Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of commissioning activities on site.
• Collaborate with design, delivery and operations teams for successful outcomes.
• Assist in site inspections, testing and performance verification of new assets.
• Produce and maintain commissioning documentation (method statements and risk assessments).
• Help resolve technical issues and optimise performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you’ll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site

About You

You’re a hands-on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery. You’re comfortable working in dynamic site environments and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• A HNC (or equivalent Level 4 qualification) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
• Experience in water supply asset maintenance or commissioning (typo in closed),
• Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector)
• A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
