Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Pharmacy Technician for Cancer Services to review SACT plans, confirm fit-to-treat status, and support the day treatment unit with accurate, timely information. Qualifications

• Holds NVQ Level 3 and BTEC qualifications and is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Desirable medicines optimisation accreditation and technician checking accreditation or willingness to work toward them.
• Opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility as competencies are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Review SACT treatment plans on the electronic prescribing system for availability and visibility to the cancer services pharmacy team.
• Review treatment plans, clinic letters and critical tests to complete fit-to-treat before scheduled appointments.
• Evaluate patient blood test results before marking fit-to-treat for SACT per protocols.
• Ensure prescribing of SACT is accurate and escalate queries or ambiguous prescribing to relevant teams.
• Use a team-based approach to provide pharmacy services to the day treatment unit and foster cross-department collaboration.
• Deliver and lead daily handover on the day treatment unit with up-to-date information.
