Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a pharmacy technician to join the cancer services team on the Seamoor Unit, handling SACT and day treatments in North Devon. You will collaborate with pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and prescribers to ensure smooth delivery and accurate treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Holds NVQ Level 3 and BTEC qualifications and is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Desirable medicines optimisation accreditation and technician checking accreditation or willingness to pursue.
• Opportunity for increasing levels of responsibility as competencies are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Review SACT treatment plans on the electronic prescribing system for availability and scheduling.
• Review treatment plans, clinic letters and critical tests to complete fit-to-treat before appointments.
• Evaluate patient blood test results to mark fitness-to-treat for SACT per protocols.
• Ensure prescribing of SACT is accurate and escalate queries as needed.
• Use a team-based approach to pharmacy services on the day treatment unit and foster cross-department collaboration.
• Deliver and lead daily handover on the day treatment unit with up-to-date information.
