Job summary

UHNM is recruiting a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician for the Cancer Services unit at County Hospital, Stafford. The role supports SACT dispensing, ward-based service, and clinical trials under Pharmacist supervision.

Requires GPhC registration and ACT qualification; hours include a 37.5 per week rota with some weekend commitment. The post spans both County Cancer Unit and Royal Stoke sites, offering development within a multidisciplinary cancer team and opportunities for training and career

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent and ACT qualification.
Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians.

Responsibilities

Provide dispensary-based activities in cancer units including dispensing of prescriptions and specialised items (e.g. chemotherapy, clinical trials materials).
Ensure timely supply of medications for SACT and supplementary meds.
Work as an Accredited Checking Technician including SACT and oral meds.
Provide high-quality support in pharmaceutical services to cancer patients.
Participate in medicines management and safety initiatives within the Directorate.
Dispense and check clinical trials under supervision of Pharmacist/CTT.
