Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a driven pharmacy technician to join the cancer services team on the day treatment unit at North Devon District Hospital. The post focuses on medicines management and the delivery of SACT and other day treatments.

Ideal candidates will hold NVQ Level 3 and BTEC qualifications and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 and BTEC qualifications are required.
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is required.
Desirable medicines optimisation accreditation and technician checking accreditation or willingness to work towards them.

Responsibilities

Review SACT treatment plans on the prescribing system to ensure availability and accurate scheduling of treatment.
Review treatment plans, clinic letters and critical tests to complete the fit-to-treat process ahead of appointments.
Evaluate blood test results to determine fitness for any SACT treatment according to protocols.
Ensure prescribing of SACT is accurate and resolve any queries with relevant teams.
Work in a team-based approach to provide pharmacy services to the day treatment unit.
Deliver and lead daily handover on the day treatment unit with up-to-date information.
