Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic medicines management technician to join our team at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford). We have a fully electronic prescribing system, which increases the involvement and engagement of patients, carers, and staff, transforming clinical services and care.
Our team of hardworking, focused, ambitious, and friendly medicines management technicians has helped develop the service across the trust. They are valued members of the clinical pharmacy and ward teams, making this an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of patients and healthcare professionals while developing your skills and experience in pharmacy.
This role is suitable not only for technicians who already hold a Medicines Management Accreditation but also as a Band 4 to 5 progressive role for newly qualified technicians or those due to qualify in September, working towards their Medicines Management and Technician Checking Accreditation. Please note, progression to Band 5 requires completion of MM accreditation, technician checking accreditation, and meds history taking training (if not already achieved).
Participation in 7-day working, including late duties, bank holidays, and weekends, is required. The Pharmacy service operates 7 days a week to deliver high standards of patient care, and staff are expected to work some weekends as part of their contracted hours.
