Key duties include coordinating workload with the Medicines Team Manager, handling repeat prescriptions, learning electronic prescribing systems, and supporting clinicians with reviews and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Medicines Team Manager to organise workload.
• Review and process repeat prescription requests following protocols.
• Develop knowledge of the practice's electronic prescribing systems.
• Address medicine queries from patients, pharmacists and care homes.
• Add new medicines from discharge summaries and clinic letters.
• Issue prescriptions for blister packs, dosette boxes and appliances.
• Support clinicians with medication reviews, blood tests and blood pressure monitoring.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor team activities to ensure efficient patient services.
• Contribute to new policies and procedures to improve practice organisation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality.
• Liaise with staff and external agencies involved in patient care.
• Promote effective team communication within the Primary Healthcare Team.
• Collect data, prepare reports and assist with relevant research.
• Utilise IT to support practice activity and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Caldicott, FoIA and NHS/CCG requirements.
• Assist in planning targets like QOF, Enhanced Services and CQC.
