Job summary

The Nelson Trust is a charity providing residential treatment and support for people affected by addiction, trauma and disadvantage. We seek a part-time Medication Assistant to manage medications across four residential houses in Brimscombe, Stroud, working with the Medication Lead to ensure safety and accuracy.

You will be responsible for overseeing medication systems, maintaining records, and coordinating with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy or medication administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or working towards it.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medication management across four houses.
  • Receive, check, book in, store, administer and return medications safely.
  • Carry out medication audits and maintain quality assurance records.
  • Liaise with GPs, pharmacies and healthcare professionals for timely prescriptions.
  • Coordinate service user medical appointments and transport.
  • Support use of electronic medication administration records (eMAR).

Medication Assistant

The Nelson Trust is a charity dedicated to supporting people whose lives have been affected by addiction, trauma,abuseand multiple disadvantages. Through our residential treatment services, we help people build positive,healthyand sustainable futures.

We are looking to recruit a part-time Medication Assistant to work across our four residential treatment houses inBrimscombe, Stroud. Working closely with the Medication Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe management of medications, maintaining accuraterecordsand supporting service users to access the healthcare they need. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, medication managementexperienceand a passion for making a difference in people's lives.

Salary

£25,000 per annum (pro rata)

28 hours per week, worked over 4 days

Location

Brimscombe, Stroud

What will you do?
  • Oversee medication management systems across our residential treatment houses, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Receive, check, book in, store, administer and return medications safely and accurately
  • Carry out medication audits andmaintainhigh standardsof quality assurance and record keeping
  • Liaise with GPs,pharmaciesand healthcare professionals to ensure prescriptions are processed promptly
  • Manage and coordinate service user medical appointments and related transport arrangements
  • Support the effective use and monitoring of electronic medication administrationrecord(eMAR) systems
What we are looking for
  • Full UK DrivingLicenseand access to a vehicle
  • Experience working in a healthcare,pharmacyor medication administration setting
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards), or relevant equivalent experience
  • Strongorganisationalskills with excellent attention to detail and the ability tomaintainaccuraterecords
  • Confidence using IT systems, including email,spreadsheetsand electronic recording systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with service users,colleaguesand external professionals
  • A professional,compassionateandnon-judgementalapproach, with a commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
