Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant with Medical Training to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You will support learners in classrooms, drawing on medical training to meet additional needs and provide a reassuring presence throughout the day.

Responsibilities include one-to-one and small-group support, personal care where required, and assisting tutors with sessions and materials. A patient, proactive approach to diverse needs is essential.

Qualifications

• Medical training relevant to supporting learners with medical needs.
• Experience supporting learners in education, care, or community settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach to diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs.
• Support medical and personal care needs as per individual plans.
• Assist tutors with session delivery and learning material preparation.
• Help learners access the curriculum and develop independent learning skills.
• Monitor learner progress and feed back to tutors.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
