Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

This is a part-time position with shifts on Thursdays and Fridays. (Please note the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.)

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at QEUH, delivering high-quality secretarial support. Candidates should have an HNC or SVQ III in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration, with good knowledge of office procedures, accuracy under pressure, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.

Key Duties:
  1. Provide comprehensive medical administrative support within the department.
  2. Transcribe letters using the Winscribe dictation system, provided by Consultants and Nurses.
  3. Manage patient inquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.

Experience with medical terminology, speed, accuracy, organizational skills, and flexibility are highly desirable.
