Job Overview

We seek a motivated Medical Secretary to support the Perinatal Mental Health Team at Dorothy Pattison Hospital, Walsall. The role involves providing secretarial support to a Consultant Psychiatrist and team, managing appointments, and attending multidisciplinary meetings.

Main Duties
  • Prioritize and coordinate workload independently and as part of a team
  • Attend meetings and follow up actions
  • Maintain medical records and book appointments
  • Use IT systems such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, RIO, and digital dictation (Bighand)

Requirements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • AMSPAR Diploma and medical secretarial experience or equivalent
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient information systems
  • Relevant qualifications such as RSA/OCR Level 3 in typing/word processing
Person Specification
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths
  • Relevant secretarial experience, preferably in NHS
  • Understanding of confidentiality and line management experience
  • Strong audio and typing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
