Job Overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide medical records support for the Central Mental Health Service

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workload. The candidate should also have excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package. The post holder will be expected to undertake a variety of duties within the role.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications and / or Knowledge

  • Good standard of education, GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of principles of confidentiality
  • NVQ Level 2 Customer Services, or equivalent knowledge & experience, or willing to work towards

Desirable criteria

  • NVQ or equivalent qualification / experience
  • Knowledge of NHS Records Management legislation

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working with Microsoft packages

Desirable criteria

  • NHS experience
  • Previous Administrative and Customer Service experience
  • Working with filing procedures

Aptitude And Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Good written & verbal skills both face to face and on the telephone
  • Attention to detail
  • Methodical approach
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to exert light/moderate physical effort when handling equipment i.e. trolleys and mobile racking, and to lift,fileTransfer case notes from one location to another, to sort and reorganise appropriately
