Job summary

Kilbirnie Medical Practice, part of the NHS Health Centre, invites Medical Receptionists to apply for one full-time (37.5h) and one part-time (up to 21h) position in Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire. The role covers front-desk duties, phone handling, appointment management and signposting to GPs and healthcare professionals.

EMIS and DOCMAN experience is advantageous; training will be provided. The team is friendly and growing, with Vision planned for 2027.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly with GPs, patients and healthcare professionals.
• Willingness to learn and take on new roles.

Responsibilities

• General reception work at the front desk.
• Answering the telephone and managing appointments.
• Signposting where appropriate and handling enquiries from patients and external organisations.
• Managing workflow and communicating with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
