Job description

We are a small GP Practice based in S2 with approximately 4,000 patients.

We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our friendly team.

This role is for 23 hours per week, including sickness and holiday cover, with shifts available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, as required.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant should have excellent customer service skills and be flexible to cover their share of holiday and sickness leave when needed.

Experience in General Practice is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.

About us

We are a small GP Practice based in S2 with approximately 4,000 patients.

You will be joining an existing Reception team of four staff members.

The working hours are Wednesday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Thursday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, and Friday 8:30 am - 6:00 pm.

Job responsibilities

Summary of Role

To provide a high standard of Reception Service to patients, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly, efficiently, and courteously.

Reception Duties

  • Responsible for opening and closing the premises in the mornings and evenings, including setting the alarm system, with other staff members.
  • Monitor Reception and Waiting Room areas, including informing patients of late-running surgeries.
  • Arrange patient appointments and liaise with GPs and Practice staff regarding patient issues.
  • Liaise with hospitals regarding patient blood results and queries.
  • Update computer and manual records as necessary.
  • Open, stamp, and distribute internal post by scanning onto SystmOne.
  • Provide cover for other Reception staff when needed.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role as agreed.
