Job summary

NHS Tayside invites applications for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant based in the Pathology Department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The successful applicant will carry out routine laboratory duties across sections, including specimen reception, data entry, and record keeping, while supporting Biomedical Scientists and other staff.

Applicants should have SVQ level 3 or equivalent laboratory experience and will be expected to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support

Qualifications

• SVQ level 3 in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
• Able to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine laboratory duties across sections of the Department.
• Perform specimen reception duties and data entry, record keeping.
• Provide support to Biomedical Scientists and assist with basic laboratory procedures.
• Assist with housekeeping and general duties.
