Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an Associate Practitioner for a full-time, permanent role at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. You will perform routine laboratory duties within a busy diagnostic pathology department and contribute to a UKAS-accredited lab, while engaging in extensive training.

The position involves 36 hours per week and requires a current HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF 7) or equivalent laboratory experience, with strong teamwork and professional conduct expected.

Qualifications

• HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF 7) or proven equivalent laboratory experience.
• Good interpersonal skills, a professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine laboratory duties including computer data entry, chemical preparation, assisting with specimen dissection, paraffin wax embedding and microtomy.
• Undertake extensive training and completion of competence-based assessments.
