Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking an entry level Medical Laboratory Assistant to assist in sample reception, processing and clerical tasks within a clinical setting. The role involves preparing samples for analysis, labeling and loading them onto analysers, and maintaining accurate records.

You will work under Biomedical Scientists in Blood Sciences, handling biological materials and adhering to health and safety policies, with potential extended hours or 24/7 service according to service

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sample reception and processing duties including receipt, barcode labelling and preparation of samples for analysis.
• Load samples onto analysers or other laboratory equipment and archive samples.
• Perform clerical tasks including data input of patient demographics and test request information and maintain clerical records.
• Perform general housekeeping duties including stock levels, cleaning and waste disposal.
• Maintain and promote a professional image.
• Work with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals and follow departmental health and safety policies.
• May be required to work extended days or a 24/7 service to meet service needs.
• Be responsible to Biomedical Scientists in Blood Sciences.
• Handle biological samples and related paperwork in accordance with defined competence.
