Job summary

BFS, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is hiring a Decontamination Technician as part of the Decontamination Services Team. The role offers full training through a Level 2 Apprenticeship, including the IDSc Technical Certificate, with potential progression to a qualified Technician role.

The successful candidate will help decontaminate medical devices, manage sterilisation, and document work in the tracking systems, while adhering to ISO 13485:2016 and NHS

Qualifications

• Teamwork and collaborating with colleagues to deliver decontamination services.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate medical devices including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and sterilisation.
• Record tasks in Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing).
• Ensure instrument sets are assembled and sterilised according to procedures and provide sterile goods to users.
• Follow departmental SOPs and Quality Management Systems.
