Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to support to join our Women's Health department (Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center in Dumfries, VA. The Medical Assistant must have experience working directly within women's health (Obstetrics and Gynecology).

Anticipated schedule: Monday-Friday 0700-1530 or 730-1600

Position Overview:

This position provides medical assistant services in support of patient care and treatment.

Responsibilities:

Experienced with biopsies, polyp removals and related procedures - REQUIRED
• Taking a patient's history and personal information upon arrival of appointment
• Responsible for tracking of some reports
• Checking patient vitals and provide assistance to physician in office
• Screens walk-in patients for eligibility for treatment.
• Handle light administrative duties; schedule appointments of patients.
• Handle/triage patient to staff questions.
• Maintains and stock forms and inventory needed at front desk.
• Performs various other clerical tasks to assist clinical staff members

Requirements:

• Required: Graduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant program
• Required: 2-years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • At least 3 months experience working in a women's health center or Ob/Gyn clinical setting (resume must reflect solid, relevant experience)
• Active BLS certification required from American Heart Association
• *Must be a U.S. citizen
• Updated immunizations with proof
