Job summary

Capital Health in the Nottingham region is seeking a capable Medical Assistant to support exam rooms, prep patients, and assist providers during visits. You will direct patients, document vital signs, and help with procedures, ensuring smooth clinic operation.

The role emphasizes accurate records, patient communication, and coordination of tests and referrals, with a standard 40-hour week and a focus on infection control and team collaboration within our primary and specialty care network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience as medical assistant, EMT or related role.
• AHA BLS certification; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of vital signs, medical terminology, basic data entry and medical record management.
• Usual work day: 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist LIP during patient encounters.
• Direct patients to examination rooms and assist with undressing/dressing and getting on/off examination table.
• Notify provider of patient arrival and readiness for examination; assist with exams.
• Record vital signs, medical history, medications and problem list.
• Assist with medication reconciliation and documentation of patient medications.
• Perform clerical duties: patient registration, billing, scheduling, and filing medical records; maintain data accuracy.
• Ensure infection control, cleaning, stocking and equipment maintenance; cross-train for Reception Rep duties.
