Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and providers across clinical settings. Responsibilities include preparing rooms, assisting during examinations, reviewing charts, recording vital signs and medications, and handling essential clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years’ direct patient care experience, and AHA BLS certification. Work hours are 40 per week; benefits are provided as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Two years of work experience as a medical assistant, EMT or other direct patient care related role.
• Other Credentials: AHA BLS. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.
• Knowledge: Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Special Training: Vital signs, medical terminology, basic data entry and medical record management.
• Usual Work Day: 8 Hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient encounters.
• Review charts and document patient history, medications and vital signs.
• Assist with patient equipment downloads and reports for review.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and maintain patient records.
• Perform clerical duties: registration, billing, scheduling and filing.
