Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient encounters, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers across Primary Care and Specialty Care offices. The role emphasizes accurate charting, patient registration, and efficient clerical support.

AHA BLS and 2 years direct patient care experience are preferred, with opportunities to work across CH locations and participate in comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience as a medical assistant, EMT or related role.
• AHA BLS certification; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.
• Knowledge of vital signs, medical terminology, basic computer data entry and medical record management.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Ability to document and maintain patient care records.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms for patient encounters and assists LIP as requested.
• Directs patients to examination rooms and assists in preparing patients for examination.
• Assists patients in undressing, dressing and getting on and off the examination table.
• Notifies provider of patient's arrival and readiness for their examination.
• Assists providers with patient examinations.
• Reviews charts prior to patients' scheduled appointment to ensure lab work and reports are accessible.
• Records medical history, current medications, treatments, and problem list accurately.
• Obtains and records patient vital signs and reason for visit.
• Assists with medication reconciliation and documentation of patient medications.
• Performs clerical duties including patient registration, billing, scheduling, and filing medical records.
