Job summary

Memorial Regional Health seeks a Clinical Support Assistant to help prepare patients for examinations and document medical histories, vaccines, vital signs, and medications in the EMR. The position requires strong patient-care skills, teamwork, and adherence to organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for driving with a valid license)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must successfully pass a background check
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable)
• Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment

Responsibilities

• Shows patients to the examination room and prepares them for the provider.
• Records patients' past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation.
• Maintains compliance within the department and clinic, and with state and federal regulations and policies.
• Answers and directs calls; takes messages and documents in the EMR.
• Cares for instruments (cleaning, packaging, sterilizing where available).
• Participates in mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Follows policies and procedures and maintains HIPAA confidentiality.
• Uses EMR forms and documents appropriately.
• Collects, labels, and transports specimens.
• Assists providers with tests and procedures; floats to other departments as assigned.
• Performs workload as assigned and supports team with safety and quality initiatives.
