Caterpillar is hiring a Controls Engineer - Manufacturing Automation for its Desford, UK site. You will act as the controls subject matter expert, leading automation projects, integrating Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs, HMI and SCADA, and driving safety and productivity improvements across manufacturing operations.

The role requires hands-on capability in control system design, lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality and facilities to deliver robust

Qualifications

• Experience designing and integrating automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC- and SCADA-based automation.
• Ability to lead controls lifecycle management and plant upgrades.
• Strong problem-solving across electrical/electronic hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls integration for major capital projects and CI initiatives.
• Design, program and support Siemens PLCs, Mitsubishi PLCs, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Drive standardisation and modernisation of legacy assets with OT architecture alignment.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for automated lines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and facilities to deliver robust automation solutions.
