Job summary

Wilds Lodge School in Empingham, Rutland, seeks a Vocational Teacher: Mechanics to deliver engaging practical mechanics-based learning to learners with SEMH and ASD needs. The role supports confidence, resilience and employability in a structured environment, with a focus on vehicle maintenance, systems and safety.

You will plan theory and practical lessons, adapt to individual needs and use hands-on activities to engage students who may struggle in traditional settings.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified teacher status or relevant qualification to deliver vocational subject.
• Have KS3 to KS5 experience.
• Have a good honours degree or equivalent.
• Have evidence of recent and relevant training and CPD.
• Have relevant training and / or experience in SEMH and autism / communication and interaction needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, practical mechanics-based learning.
• Plan and deliver practical and theory-based lessons covering vehicle maintenance, mechanical systems, workshop practice, health and safety and fault finding.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual needs and use practical learning to engage students.”
