Job summary

Yeovil College invites applications for a Curriculum Leader – Mechanical. Based in our brand-new workshops, you will lead the Mechanical Trades curriculum, shaping delivery, standards and learner outcomes.

You’ll oversee a team, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvement to meet regulatory requirements. You will use data, industry insight and employer intelligence to inform decisions, support recruitment and strengthen progression opportunities for learners, while delivering a hands-on

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in curriculum, vocational or apprenticeship provision.
• Strong industry expertise in Construction or Building Services with current knowledge.
• Learner-first mindset with focus on outstanding outcomes.
• Commercial and analytical thinking with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills in a busy environment.
• Relevant qualifications: Level 3 Construction/Building Services, Level 5 teaching, and Level 2 English/Maths (or willingness to achieve).

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across the Mechanical Trades curriculum.
• Lead and support a team of staff, setting high standards for teaching, learning and assessment.
• Monitor attendance, retention, achievement and progression; drive quality improvement.
• Ensure programmes meet awarding body and regulatory requirements.
• Use data and industry insight to inform decision-making and support recruitment.
