Job summary

A Mechanical Technician role with a global chemicals manufacturer is seeking a hands-on professional to maintain, repair and inspect mechanical equipment across the site. You will support asset care, drive uptime and ensure safety standards are met during installations and project work.

Key responsibilities include coordinating maintenance via CMMS, performing PSSR/ispection checks on tanks, pipework and supports, and overseeing on-site contractors.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade apprenticeship or relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as fitter/fabricator in an industrial setting.
• Recent experience in an industrial, high hazard manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities through CMMS, keeping task records accurate and up to date.
• Inspect and test mechanical equipment, including tanks, pipework, drains and structural components.
• Install mechanical plant and equipment per project specifications and modification procedures.
• Maintain engineering stores by monitoring stock and organising spare parts overhaul.
• Support continuous improvement through site-wide projects and improvement initiatives.
• Oversee on-site service contractors within your area of competence.
• Follow safe working procedures and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Participate in the emergency call-out rota to support safety during incidents.
• Record clear, accurate information in the daily shift handover log.
