Omega Resource Group in Rushden is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a fast-paced manufacturing site. You will diagnose faults and repair mechanical/hydraulic systems across production equipment, and perform planned maintenance to maximise reliability.

The role requires a mechanical maintenance background in manufacturing, with Level 2/3 Engineering qualifications. You will work 12-hour shifts and support continuous improvement while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical maintenance.
• Able to work shifts and in a fast-paced setting.

Aufgaben

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and implement long-term solutions to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement to optimise equipment performance.
• Maintain site equipment, utilities and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise disruption.
• Record maintenance work and follow health and safety standards.
• Assist with basic electrical fault finding when required.

We are recruiting for a leading global manufacturer operating within a fast-paced production environment, supplying high-quality packaging solutions

Responsibilities - Mechanical Technician

• Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical and hydraulic systems across production equipment
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise machinery reliability and efficiency
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and implement effective, long-term solutions to minimise downtime
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment performance (OEE)
• Maintain and service site equipment, utilities, and general mechanical systems
• Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations
• Complete maintenance records and ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
• Assist with basic electrical fault finding and repair where required

Experience / Qualifications - Mechanical Technician

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Basic electrical fault-finding ability (desirable, not essential)
• Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out efficient repairs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
